Fascent

Essence & Philosophy

Fascent is a French niche perfume house that seeks to reimagine the fragrance experience by breaking free from traditional rules and offering joyful, emotionally attuned scents. Their philosophy is grounded in flexibility, personalization, and emotional expression.

Rather than treating fragrance as a fixed, ornamental accessory, Fascent positions scent as a living, adaptable tool—one you layer, blend, and shift to match your mood, personality, or moment.

The brand name itself is a portmanteau of “facets” and “scent,” emphasizing that both people and perfumes have multiple dimensions.

Founders & Origins

Fascent was cofounded by Fanny Fortin Descamps and Edwina Réthoré.

  • Fanny Fortin Descamps leads the creative vision and fragrance direction. Before launching Fascent, she worked in the perfume industry and cultivated a deep fascination for how scents can express emotional states.
  • Edwina Réthoré serves as Co-Founder & Managing Director, guiding Fascent’s business strategy, operations, and growth.

Together, they envisioned Fascent as a fragrance brand that challenges traditional boundaries and centers emotion, inclusivity, and personal expression in perfumery.

Core Values & Differentiators

  • Emotional Resonance: Fascent considers scent a direct pathway to emotions, leveraging fragrance to influence mood, memory, confidence, and identity.
  • Adaptability & Layering: Their fragrances are designed to be worn alone or combined with one another, enabling users to build a “(life)style olfactif” that changes with them.
  • Inclusivity & Accessibility: Fascent aims to “shake up” the perfume world by offering high-concept scents at accessible prices and without stereotypes.
  • Expressive Design: The bottles and caps reflect motion, asymmetry, and a non-fixed aesthetic—symbolic of the brand’s fluid approach to fragrance.
